—— However, the general structure of the proposals in the application leaves plenty of space for hosting additional artistic projects that will enrich and add focus to the programme’s “framework projects”: two new permanent European festivals, existing international events, major exhibitions in 2013, major popular events and other framework programmes (see hereafter).

—— The plans  include also three types of “open” programme that reach out to artists and the general population of our area. These are, firstly, the calls for proposals; secondly, the large-scale projects requiring active participation by the local population and artistic leadership for this involvement; and thirdly, the “Ateliers de l’Euroméditerranée” (Euro- Mediterranean Workshops) project.
