Marseille Provence 2013 launched a competition to come up with the official logo and visual identity for the European Capital of Culture 2013. Open to professionals from a wide variety of disciplines (artists, designers, graphic artists, illustrators, etc.) and announced in the press and on professional websites in France and abroad, the competition attracted 150 applications from 25 countries. Submitting a project
A "methodology document" lays down the rules for developing the future programme for the European Capital of Culture. In this document you will find explanations of procedures for submission, deliberations by the jury, selection process, labelling of projects, financial arrangements, communication systems, and the calendar for preparing the final programme. In the near future, this document will be widely distributed to cultural players during information meetings held throughout the area. The calendar for these meetings and the dates for submission and examination of projects will be posted on the Marseille-Provence 2013 web site.
